Route 119, Any Route 119 Will Do
I love this sign, and I wonder what happens to unsuspecting tourists who take route 119 for the very first time.
We have something like this also with Route 4. There's "old route 4", "new route 4" and "local route 4". In everyday conversations, they're all referred to as "route 4" and it's up to you to figure out which one is being mentioned.

Kegon Falls in Winter
That's how it looked at the bottom:
And there was plenty of ice all around:
Yeah, it was pretty cold. The waterfall wasn't 100% frozen, but was pretty frozen nonetheless.
This is a Watery Wednesday entry.

Remembering Summer
in Moka:
The squatting guy is wearing fundoshi, a traditional Japanese loincloth. It's a typical attire of men who carry mikoshi (portable shrines) during Shinto festivals.
To read more about fundoshi, check out this post on my other blog.

Valentine's Day in Nikko
Nikko Candle Pageant:
Of course, we "heart" Nikko.
Looks lovely, doesn't it?
And yes, it was bitterly cold...
Peace and love in Spanish...

It snowed last night
And this morning we had to deal with more than the usual stupidity on the roads:
"What? I cleared the front windshield, what more do you want?" Yeah, Tochigi drivers - first in safety, as always.
And this is at work in Imaichi:
And here one more:
